Schubas w/ The Old Ceremony was FANTASTICO

schubasWe had a fantastic time playing with Nathan Xander (from Chicago) and The Old Ceremony (from Chapel Hill, NC) last Monday at Schubas! The show featured a new Sax-o-licious horn section of Amanda and Jeff, as well as our dear friend Jeff Brown pretty-ing it up on the accordion. Thanks so much to everyone who came out on a Monday night to fill up that great room and rock out with us.

This was our 4th time playing at Schubas since May and it sure does feel like home. So much so that we keep on (Matt keeps on) having very silly moments in the green room. I’m sure you remember the Cake Incident of May 2009, and last night we had some more silliness while hanging out pre-show with the whole gang. Video soon to come…

Also, here are some great pics from Pamela Yasuko Photography:

More BROOKLYN ROCKS live cobalt footage

BrooklynRocks (4)

More acoustic and electric video LIVE from BROOKLYN via the Brooklyn Rocks Blog! We had such an awesome time playing on that rooftop, and we were so pumped when the Brooklyn Rocks team cancelled plans and showed up at Union Hall!  Read what they have to say about us, and enjoy the live footage below – (Union Hall footage is great visually, but we’re a bit too loud for the mic :)

“Wreckage” and “You Left Your Sweater…” electric at Union Hall in Park Slope, Brooklyn

Live acoustic rooftop footage from BROOKLYN ROCKS blog

BrooklynRocks (4)On the final day of our first tour this summer – July 24 in Brooklyn – we stopped in Crown Heights to do a session with the Brooklyn Rocks blog.  We ended up on the roof eating some snacks, drinking some beverage, and playing an acoustic set for anyone who happened to come by… to the roof…  It was a ton of fun, and a great way to unwind at the end of a long stretch of shows.  You can check out the blog here, and see all the nice things they had to say about us, and check out some of the footage below:

I am also pretty pumped that The Clash “I Fought the Law” is a top related video on YouTube :)

The BROOKLYN PAPER deems "Secrets of the Burgh" a SMASH

smash_logo8I wish we could just embed the video, but alas we cannot.  So you are going to have to click the link.  IT’S WORTH IT!

Schuba's SOLD OUT [whatup!]

schubasMajor shout-out to everyone who came out to Schubas last sunday and helped SELL THAT JOINT OUT! We had an absolutely fantastic time playing for you, and many thanks to our awesome horn section of Jaimie and Amanda for bringing it.

Jesse also managed to get some choice video footage of us hanging out below Schubas in the green room after the show. It’s very important. It involves cake and Sesame Street.
